Initial scoping research is proposed to identify the potential to illustrate current urban transport performance of Australian and New Zealand metropolitan areas and the requirements in developing more liveable and sustainable cities in the future, from a passenger transport perspective.  Most transport assessment is based on individual projects and this approach does not provide the strategic framework and key metrics to guide future planning and investment. This research aims to establish whether more detailed research is justified to develop urban passenger transport metrics and reporting frameworks.
