Background:
There is currently diversity of
approach across Australia to driver performance monitoring and
feedback and limited dissemination of best practice. As a result
there are a number of inefficiencies, such as operators find
themselves training and retraining drivers after every track
incident with consequent costs and inefficiencies. This project
will identify current practice in driver performance monitoring and
what would be needed to meet the needs of the industry into the
future.
Objective:
The project aims to identify relevant stakeholders, their
expertises and engage them in the larger project.
Project
scope:
In this preliminary stage, the project will identify major
stakeholders, their current policies and practices and industry
concerns as well as obtain stakeholder agreement for further
evaluation towards a national framework.
Benefits:
The project will facilitate the development of a national driver
performance monitoring and feedback system by identifying major
stakeholders, their current practices and their perspective on
those practices.
Expected outcomes:
1) Survey and summary of existing driver performance monitoring
and feedback systems in all jurisdictions.
2) Preliminary needs assessment report on the major problems as
identified by industry.
3) Written stakeholder agreement from major entities
identified.
Project timeframe:
2 months
